We are spiritually nourished through our liturgical worship and music, Christian formation programs and community mission-outreach. We attempt to live what we profess through a life of discipleship and servant leadership. Our service to the community and world spans a broad array of mission-outreach ministries and opportunities that appeal to a variety of individuals and families.
St. John’s Episcopal Church is an exciting and vibrant parish community where grace happens and disciples grow. We extend the grace and peace of The Lord Jesus Christ to you! Our parish is in The Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey lead by our Bishop,The Right Reverend Chip Stokes.
We are a growing parish with more than 250 families. Throughout our continued growth and development, St. John’s endeavors to carry out our mission: "To Know Christ and to Make Him Known". We are a people ultimately, of faith in Jesus Christ. Relationships are paramount - especially when we consider our baptismal covenant, "to seek and serve Christ in all persons loving our neighbor as our self."
St. John's is an Oasis Welcoming Parish!
As an Oasis Welcoming Congregation, we at St. John's Church are committed to inviting, supporting and embracing all people - no matter where you are on your journey - as full members of our church, family and worship life; particularly our brothers and sisters who have experienced exclusion because of their sexual orientation or identity and are seeking a safe, comfortable and affirming spiritual home. Our doors are open to you!
If you have been praying, thinking, searching, church-shopping, and hoping for a place to belong, we say "Welcome!"
About the Episcopal Church
The Episcopal Church is one branch of the world-wide Anglican Communion numbering 60 million members in over 160 countries. It is often referred to as a "bridge" church because it includes both Roman Catholic and Reformed traditions. It preserves the ancient Catholic faith and sacraments and the historic ministry with bishops as chief pastors (Episcopal comes from the Greek word for "bishop"). It is at the same time Reformed, focusing on the authority of Holy Scripture and the proclamation of the Word of God, concerned for a personal commitment to Jesus Christ. We are governed by clergy and lay people working together. Similarly we have been called the "thinking man's church", valuing the gift and training of human reason used in matters of faith and morals.
